Berlin Private Tour -
it deserves your attention
Berlin is a combination of grit and glamour, culture and techno, tangible, wrenching history and a vibrant present that has not forgotten its past. This private panoramic tour is best for first time visitors and will give you a well rounded impression of what is most important.
Discover the surprising origins of this green metropolis and get a feel of how the city grew through the centuries into the Prussian empire to end up as the most inspiring,
progressive and tolerant city in Europe between the two world wars. Then came the downfall and Hitler's megalomaniac plans to create "Germania", the capital of the Thousand Year Reich. All this is indeed still visible today. We will trace not only the Berlin Wall but all important sights and monuments as well as discover how Berliners live today and how the city that never rests is constantly re-inventing itself.

Private all day tour - flexible - custom fit to suit your special interests.
Berlin is huge! To understand the history, recent and current developments and the surprising treasures Berlin has, and it has many, you need an expert tour guide, a minivan and a driver. We will spend the day pulling together East and West, diving in and out of history into the present and back into history again. This is Berlin, still today.
This tour is flexible so I do not adhere to a particular route. I will adjust it to your interests. Below is a suggestion to give orientation. We can deviate from that to suit you.
We will discover all the must sees such as the randenburger Tor, Reichstag, the Wall and Check-Point-Charlie, and much more. We will dive into the deep East as well as the deep West. We will see the development of the neighbourhoods which are so distinctive, unique and a defining part of Berlin. You will be able to compare and, looking closely, be able to discern the differences that still exist between both sides.
This is something to look forward to!

You must see Berlin - Shore Excursions
For your day in Berlin, we, myself and the driver will pick you up at your cruise ship in an air coonditioned Mercedes minivan. The van will have a plate with your name on it. You will start your tour and exploration of Northern Germany as soon as you leave the boat. We will drive through some villages on the way to Berlin so you can get to know and experience as much as possible in your 12 hours.
We will delve into the most important must sees of the city such as the Brandenburger Tor, Check-Point-Charlie, Berlin Wall, East-Side-Gallery just to mention some of the essentials.
Berlin is huge, diverse and multifaceted so there is much to pack into 6 hours - and we will. We will have time to take a peek into some of the interesting and unique neighbourhoods, (where most one-day tourists don't have time to go) exploring East and West, pulling it all together before you are taken safely and punctually back to your cruise ship.
Look forward to a great and memorable day!

Discover the intense history of Jewish Berlin
Discover Moses Mendelsohn, probably one of the most important Jewish personalities in the history of Jewish Berlin. As a philosopher of the enlightenment in the 18th century, he led the jewish population into becoming more secular and integrated into general society thus paving the way for the Jewish Community to reach the pinacle of society in every aspect:
the arts, the sciences, philosophy, commerce etc. By the end of WWII, merely 9, 000 Berlin Jews survived. Visit the places in Berlin where Jewish life started, flourished and was stamped out by the holocaust and revived after the Berlin Wall fell. This is an exciting and emotional tour which means a lot to me because it gives me a chance to bring to life what was brutally exterminated.

Berlin Wall - The Cold War
How was life in the East Berlin? How did the average East German live? What happened to those who did not conform? Was it really a classless scociety? How did the two Germanies see eachother? Exactly what events lead to its fall? And, how did the two Germanies manage to grow together?
You will see and touch parts of the The Berlin Wall. This montrous sturcture, 12ft. tall, symbol of the Cold War which
began in the summer of 1945, has had one of the greatest impacts on the history of the 20th century. Discover what life was like behind the wall. Visit a typical East Berlin neighbourhood to get a feel of what daily life was like before 1989. You will visit the Berlin Wall Memorial at Bernauer Strasse where tunnels were dug in desperation and you discover what ghost stations are. Upon request you will see the ominous Stasi (secret police) Museum.

Fascinating Neighbourhoods
Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg, Neukölln are just 3 of the many neighbourhoods that make up the vital character of Berlin. In order to understand and really know Berlin, it is a great idea to experience these neighbourhoods. Each district, originating from typical working class neighbourhoods of the 19th century has, according to which side of the wall they were on, developed in it's unique and distinctive way.
Kreuzberg, just to give an expample, is said by some to be the coolest place in the universe because of the combination of alternative lifestyle culture and the turkish community. Neukölln has a large and growing Arabic community and Prenzlauer Berg, was and in a way still is the alternative lifestyle neighbourhood of former East Berlin.
